Gemma was first recognised outside the UK in 1974, after her roles in Fall of Eagles and The Duchess of Duke Street. She later appeared alongside fellow Potter actors playing Mrs. Dashwood in the Academy Award-winning Sense and Sensibility.
December 6 RUBEUS HAGRID Gryffindor House Born to a wizard father and the giantess Fridwulfa, Hagrid celebrates his 81st birthday! Hagrid is still employed as Gameskeeper and Keeper of the Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts. He once developed a relationship with a giantess, but it didn't work out. After receiving complaints regarding the fact that Hagrid never married, J.K. Rowling replied, "At least I didn't kill him."	December 6 EDWARD TUDOR-POLE Mr. Borgin Born in London, England, Edward celebrates his 54th birthday! Edward, under the name Eddie Tenpole, formed the band Tenpole Tudor in 1974, and came to prominence after appearing in The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle as a possible replacement for Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. His scene as Mr. Borgin was cut from the film, but can be seen on the DVD extras.
December 10 KENNETH BRANAUGH Gilderoy Lockhart Born Kenneth Charles Branagh in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Kenneth celebrates his 49th birthday! Kenneth is best known for his film adaptations of the works of William Shakespeare. In 1994, he declined an appointment as a CBE, but received a Golden Quill in 2000, the youngest actor to do so.	December 11 BEN SHEPHARD Diagon Alley Father, uncredited Born Benjamin Shephard in Epping, Essex, England, Ben celebrates his 35th birthday! A presenter for ITV, the popular UK host filmed the "Behind the Scenes of Harry Potter" documentaries for the British channel. He was cast as the "Diagon Alley Father" while filming a "Behind the Scenes" segment.
December 12 CHARLIE WEASLEY Gryffindor House Born the second son to Arthur and Molly Weasley in Ottery St. Catchpole, Devon, UK, Charlie celebrates his 37th birthday! During his years at Hogwarts, Charlie was a Gryffindor prefect, Quidditch captain, and a legendary Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Charlie has never married nor does he have any children as he, according to J.K. Rowling, "prefers dragons to women."	December 12 BILL NIGHY Rufus Scrimgeor Born William Francis Nighy in Caterham, Surrey, England, Bill celebrates his 60th birthday! Bill worked in theatre and television before his first cinema role in 1981's Eye of the Needle. He became known around the world after his portrayal as the aging pop star Bill Mack in Love Actually.
December 15 RALPH INESON Amycus Carrow Born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, Ralph celebrates his 40th birthday! He is best known for playing Chris Finch on the BBC programme The Office.	December 16 TONY CHRISTIAN Slytherin Beater #3 Born in England, Tony celebrates his 34th birthday this week! Nicknamed "Ginger Ninja", Tony performed stunts in Chamber of Secrets and Half-Blood Prince and was a stunt driver for Prisoner of Azkaban. The majority of Tony's extensive filmography is as a stunt performer.

James has spent his acting career playing small parts in television and film, some larger parts in independent film. He is used as Hagrid for far away shots that show Hagrid immense size.	December 21 DAVID MASSAM Slytherin Beater #2 Born in South Essex, England, David celebrates his 27th birthday! David utilised his skills as a gymnast when appearing in Chamber of Secrets and Tony Christian's Action Entertainment stunt show - his only acting appearances to date.
December 22 RALPH FIENNES Lord Voldemort Born Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes in Suffolk, England, Ralph celebrates his 46th birthday! Ralph, a UNICEF UK ambassador, has won a Tony Award, nominated twice for Academy Awards, and received the William Shakespeare Award from the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC.	December 23 NICK MORAN Scabior Born Nick James Moran in East End, London, England, Nick celebrates his 40th birthday! Nick first appeared on the big screen in 1991's Buddy's Song with Roger Daltrey, but he is best remembered as Eddy in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
December 24 TESS BU CUARON Baby in Portrait Born in England to director Alfonso Cuaron and Annalisa Bugliani, Tess celebrates her 6th birthday! Tess's only film appearance is in the portrait with her mother in Prisoner of Azkaban.	December 28 DAME MAGGIE SMITH Minerva McGonagall Born Margaret Natalie Smith in Ilford Borough, Essex, England, Maggie celebrates her 75th birthday! Maggie made her stage debut in 1952 and is still performing after 57 years. She has been acclaimed throughout her career winning numerous awards for acting, including five BAFTAs, two Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, an Emmy, and a Tony.
December 30 DAVID DECIO Body Double: Ron Weasley, uncredited Born in London, England, David celebrates his 29th birthday! In 2002, David filmed a scene as a Hogwarts wizard shopping in Diagon Alley, however, the scene was cut and an alternate scene of Hermione exiting Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment was used instead. In PoA, David began standing in as Ron for Rupert Grint. In OotP, David also doubled for Charles Hughes as young Peter Pettigrew.	December 31 LORD VOLDEMORT Slytherin House Born Tom Marvolo Riddle to Tom Riddle Sr. and Merope Gaunt, Voldemort, archenemy of Harry Potter and the most powerful dark wizard of his time, was the last descendant of Salazar Slytherin. Voldemort died on May 2, 1998 at the age of 71. According to J.K. Rowling, the proper pronunciation of "Voldemort" is with a silent t, as was done in the first 4 audiobooks.
